Hi Kyounghye,
How have you been these days?
I wouldn't use a hwadu if you don't have a lot of time for sitting meditation. For the time you want to spend sitting, I'd just try counting the breaths. Do it on the exhale, to 10, and start over. If you get distracted just start over at 1. Count as you breathe naturally; don't accidently force yourself to breathe on the count.
For me personally, I think Daehaeng Sunim's teachings are best. And one aspect of practice is learning to let go of the hindrances and negative energy as we notice it in our daily lives. To help with letting go, Daehaeng Sunim once suggested the following reminders:
"Only my true self can guide me"
"Only my true self can take care of my body"
"Only my true self can take care of the problems of my family"
You can also see where you could modify one of these to fit you job, etc.
So when you find yourself getting caught up in things related to these, it's a good way of reminding you and helping you to let go and entrust that situation to your inherent foundation. Hope this helps a bit.
with palms together,
Chong Go
Where you been? Acttually, I didn't go last wek either. But you've been gone ages. Hope you come around soon. Some new faces now, and we lost Marcus to the UK. How have you been?
Hello Kyounghye! Yes, just about everyone who has seen it said that it looks really good. I hope that you'll be able visit us and see it up close. And also enjoy the fresh air, scenery of Gyeryongsan too.
It was nice talking about Korean culture and the Dharma with you last time. I thought someone should tell you that the group will continue after the Saturday after this one; no session this coming Saturday Saturday I mean. Marcus suggested a break, so we all agreed.

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time teaching. Just take it easy when you teach. If that's possible.
See you soon too. Suppose I wil come back to Sangha maybe in two weeks.
Peace,
Carl

I am sorry that I do not know any temples in Sadang for chanting!
If I hear anything, I will surely let you know Kyounghye!
I will not be at the Sangha on Saturday as I a going to Japan, but I will be back Sunday, and so I will attend the following week.
Will you be coming any more?
I think the Sangha is great.
On chanting, I couldn't chant well last time, as I do not know the chants too well, and I had things on my mind, in my Karma belly!
But I bought a CD and I have the books, and eventually I am gonna learn 'em, cause they are nice to do.
Actually, where I live I discovered a basement temple run by a couple (weird, eh?), and it is nice inside. I may go in the mornings before work.
Say, did anyone every tell you you sort of resemble a woman on TV? Have you seen Heart to Heart; the Arirang talk show?
Anyway, Peace.
I am really talkative tonight!
Thank you for thinking of me, and thank you for your time. Have a wonderful day.
Sincerely with Peace, Happiness, and Hope that You become a Buddha, (불하세요),
