Hi! Can someone please tell me exactly where the group meets? I haven't had much luck finding places around Seoul without a guide...but I want to come learn! If anyone can offer directions from the subway station I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I like to catch zen-like statements from people who are not buddhists. From last weeks dhammapadda there is the verse 'There are those who are aware That they are always facing death'. This story from the nytimes is about soldiers in Afghanistan. Definitely not buddhists, but surely for the soldiers in this story, 'people who are aware they are always facing death. They call it 'living the dream'.

Meanwhile, as the Taliban set the pace, the soldiers waited to see what each hour would bring. Late on one recent night, Petty Officer Third Class Ramon Gavan arranged his rifle, helmet and flak jacket beside his bed, putting it all at arm’s reach.

Living the dream,” he said, repeating a one-liner often heard here.

“This is where you realize not to take every breath for granted,” he said, and he swung his legs onto his bed, pulled a poncho liner across his face, and fell asleep. The next day, he was back on patrol.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for taking care of that! I really appreciate it. That solves a lot of problems. Thanks again!

Dhammapada! Good choice, I'll be on retreat for next month, but maybe can join later.
Here are some things which might keep you going while you are waiting for delivery.

Dhammapada mp3s with some nice mucic thrown in.

I've ordered 15 copies of "The Dhammapada" (Parallax Publishers) from Amazon. They should be here in a couple of weeks. We should be covered karma wise for making copies for next Saturday.

Hello to everyone at Saturday Sangha,

As you know, yesterday was my last time at Saturday Sangha as I'm visiting Japan and returning to the UK this week.

I just want to say Thank You all so very very much - not just for the cake and presents and kindness yesterday, but for all the kindness this group has generated since it started. You really are a very special bunch of people and have created a real Sangha here.

Thank you Chong Go Sunim for leading the group. Your wisdom, knowledge and compassion is probably the group's greatest resource. Thank you. And thank you too Gyatso Sunim, it's so great to have two such wonderful leaders.

And talking of resources, thank you to everyone at BELS, the founders and volunteers, for making this group possible.

And thank you to my Dharma brothers Joe, Joseph and Carl, and everyone else who come to the group. Thank you Ami, Mr Park, and so many others. Thank you.

This has been a very special year for me thanks to you. I wish everyone great peace and happiness.

And if anyone is reading this who hasn't yet been to Saturday Sangha.....what are you waiting for?! It meets every Saturday at BELS at 2pm sharp and you're sure to get a warm welcome.

With metta,

Marcus

Do join us if you can.

Wishing Peace and Happiness to all,

Marcus
