"A Retrospective Exhibition of Works by Grand Master Manbong" (1910-2006) including temple paintings, dancheong patterns, and other Buddhist art will be held at the Baegak Art Museum. Opening at 2pm on Aug. 26 and running until the 31st. This will be the last exhibition of his works in Seoul before they are moved for permanent display to the Manbong Buddhist Art Museum in Yongwol, Gangwondo. Master Manbong was a "Living National Treasure" and the last of the giant Dharma artists in the Joseon Dynasty tradition of Master Sanggyeom. Additional works by some of his disciples and granddisciples will be exhibited, including those by newly designated "Living National Treasure" in Dancheong, Mr. Hong Changwon.
