Daily Thought; Like all thouhts sometimes helpful, sometimes not so much.

Thought for Tue, 10 Nov 2009

A wonderful painting is the result of the feeling in your fingers. If you have the feeling of the thickness of the ink in your brush, the painting is already there before you paint. When you dip your brush into the ink you already know the result of your drawing, or else you cannot paint. So before you do something, "being" is there, the result is there. Even though you look as if you were sitting quietly, all your activity, past and present, is included, and the result of your sitting is also already there. - D.T. Suzuki...

Dharma in Korea

Seoul Dharma Group is for Buddhists, people interested in Buddhism or anyone who is simply curious, where people with some connection with Korea can get and share information. There are links to Internet talks and reading material. Anybody may write in the Forum on any topic, but preferably related to Dharma in some way.
If you are an organization please create a group. You need to do this because, just as a member people will not see your information easily. Here are a few tips.

Zen Stories

Eating the Blame

Circumstances arose one day which delayed preparation of the dinner of a Soto Zen master, Fugai, and his followers. In haste the cook went to the garden with his curved knife and cut off the tops of green vegetables, chopped them together, and made soup, unaware that in his haste he had included a part of a snake in the vegetables. The followers of Fugai thought they had never tasted such great soup. But when the master himself found the snake's head in his bowl, he summoned the cook. "What is this?" he demanded, holding up the head of the snake. "Oh, thank you, master," replied the cook, taking the morsel and eating it quickly.
